Maggie’s Playhouse Makeover

Sugar and spice, and everything nice. Isn’t that what little girls are made of? Our Magnolia is definitely spicy! her older brother says she’s a sour patch kid. Sour on the outside, but sweet on the inside. I would have to agree! Despite all of that sass in a tiny package, I love to spoil her in anyway I can. At the moment, I am working on re-doing her playhouse. It will eventually have its own area in our back yard (when Adrian finally gets a break in his busy season!) but for now, I am doing the me part. The designing and decorating, of course.

This was her playhouse last fall. We had a Halloween party for the boys, so naturally I HAD to dress it up. The leaves ended up being a terrible idea and their beautiful colors leaked all over the front of the house! Thank goodness for pressure washers.

The story behind this cute little thing is just about cute as the house! It is to me, anyway. One night, after one too many glasses of Mama Mango wine with my neighbor/bestie across the street and we were out walking with the kids. I had told her if that little house was still there we would go down to get it. Low and behold! It was there. So we hustled back down the street, got a dolly that was wayyyy too small and did our damndest to wheel that sucker home. It took up the bulk of my one car garage in our tiny Becky place home, but I worked too hard to give up now. Adrian was less than thrilled when he pulled up and opened the garage to find this massive playhouse inside, but I was on a mission to turn someone else‘s trash into my treasure. And it may have taken me a few years (two and a half) to do so, but here we go!

The house will be a coffee shop, since our girl loves her some coffee. It was one of the first words she could pronounce clearly. I’ll keep you updated as I make my way through the process! when I’m finished I will have a full post on the making of this cute little house and the beautifully landscaped grounds around it.

Sweet Wishes,

Chelsea
